Research Associate I – Vascular Biology

The Research Associate will report to the Vascular Biology Program Leader and will work with scientific staff to validate vascular drug targets and investigate mechanism of action through cell based and molecular assays.

  • Perform in vitro assays for angiogenesis and vascular stability endpoints (apoptosis, proliferation, 3D tube formation/stability assays, biomechanical forces)
  • Manage day to day operations in laboratory setting including making buffers, media, and maintaining stock solutions
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and develop methods for unmet experimental needs
  • Maintain laboratory records and notebook, organize and compile data, and write reports

  • Requires a BS or MS in biology, biochemistry, or a related field and 1-3 years of laboratory experience is required. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry setting is a plus
  • Laboratory skills in mammalian cell culture, cell based assays, and common molecular techniques (PCR, Western Blotting) are essential. Experience in flow cytometry and microscopy techniques is strongly preferred
  • A highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and demonstrate attention to detail and record keeping
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed for preparation of reports to management. Experience with Graphpad Prism is a plus
